The workout begins

Time to shed fat and build muscle!

This blog is normally meant for posts related to filmmaking, but, I'll also be using this blog to track my weight loss progress. Not only do I need to get healthy to keep from becoming diabetic, I also have a film role coming up, and the character is not this overweight person that I am right now.

Thoughts on the Colorado Cinema Tragedy

It seems as though the world gets worse each and every day. That, or we just never noticed how bad the world was until recently. We've never been more connected on a global scale than we are right now. With social sites, youtube, blogs, smart phones and more, as soon as something terrible happens, the news is spread all over.

I was working late last night editing promos for HubTV. I was exhausted but I finally wrapped up about 2:30am or so. I figured I'd do one more quick stroll around the internet before turning in for the night. My first stop, Facebook. Someone had commented on one of my earlier status' where I was whining that I couldn't get tickets to the midnight release of The Dark Knight Rises. I said it looked like fun. The commenter simply said, "Not in Colorado ;("

Finding Time

I think the biggest curse of being a filmmaker is finding time for everything. Of course, this isn't too much of a problem for some... if you're wealthy, or have no family, then finding time is usually not a huge problem.

New Blog, New Site, and coming soon... a New Film!

Hey Everyone! I'd like to thank a good friend of mine, Ryan Brewer (look up zone 4 productions on YouTube) for turning me on to Google Blogger. Looks like it'll work out quite well. Please let me know if I should add any gadgets to the blog. How many of you would like to subscribe to this via email?

Ugh. The stress of being a filmmaker has me. Thank the stars for people like Luis Rodriguez who are willing to take on some of the work load. I just got done updating the website and I'm looking into prices for building a professional site for "Masked." Again, any ideas for the website are very welcome.

Now that I'm talking about "masked," I thought I would go into a little more detail about what's going on with it. I am currently breaking down the script to get an idea on how much it's going to cost us, so we can put up a crowdfunding campaign asap. Luis is working on pulling together a list of people who would be great on our crew. Anyone else who is interested in helping out can email me.

Just in case you haven't heard of the film, "Masked" is a short thriller about a young family man who is being analyzed by a psychologist after he and his family were attacked by a masked killer.

We plan on shooting the film in the middle of August to possibly late august. I'd hate to push it to september because we start to get some terrible weather here not long after.

I'll be posting a video blog soon under the web series that I'm also calling "The Director's Chair." Sometimes it'll be just me talking about what's been going on, but more often than not, I will be getting as much daily footage on what I'm doing as I can.

If you got this far, thanks for reading, and keep in touch! Look us up on youtube and Facebook. You can also follow both me and Luis on twitter! @AlexWilliams_84 @luigrodriguez
